Humboldt Lagoons State Park Azalea Restoration
02/22/20 @ 9:00 am
California State Parks invites volunteers to help restore western azaleas in Humboldt Lagoons State Park. The workday crew will remove vegetation encroaching into the azalea bushes with loppers, hand saws and hand clippers. Participants meet at the Stagecoach Hill Azalea trailhead on Big Lagoon Ranch Road.
Take Highway 101 to Kane Road (highway marker 112.5); turn right and go up the hill to Big Lagoon Ranch Road following the signs to the trailhead. All ages welcome. Participants are encouraged to wear sturdy shoes for walking off-trail. Volunteers get a free day-pass for nearby Patrick’s Point State Park.
The organizers have extra gloves and tools for volunteers. Work locations are less than a ½ mile hike from the trailhead. Parking is limited, please carpool if possible.
